THE GAME, the Barcelona World Race virtual regatta, is launching its second beta test regatta today, with a course through the dreaded South Pacific Ocean, starting in Hobart (Tasmania) and finishing at the legendary Cape Horn (Chile) rounding New Zealand’s South Island on the way.

Over 11,000 players will make the most of this test to get in some final training and to get to grips with the game’s latest improvements before taking on the regatta on the 31st of December: a unique online circumnavigation of the planet where players will not only race against other online competitors but also against the real crews taking the start in Barcelona of the third edition of the double-handed, round the world, non-stop regatta.

Following the success of the first test event, a regatta from Barcelona-Espartel-Barcelona, and thanks to feedback and suggestions on how to improve the game from almost 10,000 betatesters who took part in the training leg, this second test regatta has packed in even more new features. One of them is the creation of teams and the chance for team captains to manage them.

Following the feedback received during the first test regatta of THE GAME, this second edition now boasts a brand new graphic interface, clearer, with better handling and a modern look, both in PC and mobile APP mode. The sailing itself has also got even better, with improvements to boat polars and the option to use reefs and autopilots.

This is your last chance to get to grips with the game and the boat before taking things to the next level with the round the world virtual regatta, which will start, like the regatta itself, on the 31st of December, with some juicy prizes up for grabs!

The prize for the winner of THE GAME is a Renault Z.E. Meanwhile leg winners (North-South Atlantic Trophy, Indian Ocean Trophy, Pacific Trophy and South-North Atlantic Trophy) will be awarded with a Renault Twizy. Finally, Renault is offering another two Twizy cars to the winners of a prize draw for the players who finish top in the weekly rankings of  “most boats overtaken” and “consistency”.
