Spirit of Hungary and Nandor Fa registered for the Vendée Globe 2016 – audio

Good news – the registration process of the SOH Imoca 60′ and her skipper has been succesfully completed for the VG 2016-17 singlehanded non-stop around the world race.

To return to and complete the 2016-17 Vendée Globe is the final goal of Hungarian Imoca 60′ skipper Nándor Fa, who had successfully completed the legendary single-handed around the world race in the 1992-93 edition in the fifth place, as the very first non-French skipper in the history of the Vendée Globe race. (boat K and H Bank-Matáv  – finished in 128 days –  designed and built by Nandor Fa )

Nandor Fa started to prepare his Spirit of Hungary 60 foot racing boat for the actual IMOCA season. Skipper audio is available here (Eng):

“At the moment I’m quite happy because yesterday I received the good news that I’m registered for this year’s Vendée Globe. It was a long process, not easy. I’m ready. On the boat there are still some changes to do. There is another race before the Vendée Globe – the New York – Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) -, which is the next one I’m preparing for. For me, this is a success that I’m registered for the Vendée Globe.”
